Clients are crucial to the success of a business.
Big duh!
That's obvious, right? But not all clients are created equal - some are better for your business than others - and it isn't always about the money. Your sanity is also an important factor.

Starting and growing a business will likely mean that you have to take on some projects and some clients that make you cuss to shame a sailor. Hopefully you can wait until you are alone to let the adjectives fly. And as your business grows, you can focus your efforts on the good clients. Here are a few points to help you recognize your good clients.

Good clients ...

  • Recognize the value of your work.
  • Respect deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Pay on time.

Be nice to Bill Tunnell - he is the new leader of the world's third largest navy. Tunnell, the Executive Director of the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park in Mobile, was recently elected President of the Historic Naval Ships Association, a group consisting of 170 vessels in 13 countries. Information about the Historic Naval Ships Association may be found at

www.hnsa.org and Battleship Park information is at www.ussalabama.com.

It is good to have a friend with his very own navy. Hey Bill, do those guns still work?

Global Marketing Solutions is proud to work with Martha and David Snyder of Outback America which is based in Northport, near Tuscaloosa. We provide production services for their various materials and boxes and boxes of T-shirts.

Outback America Weekends are weekend adventures developed to give parents and youth a practical strategy for daily living. The strategy focuses on the participant's vertical relationship with Christ and their horizontal relationship with family, friends, church and community.

See samples of our Outback America work or visit the Outback America site to learn how you can support this great organization.

Trick Construction is another client of ours in the Northport area. Fred Trick and his team are custom home builders. They rely on Global Marketing Solutions to build marketing programs as customized as the homes they offer.

Our work for Trick Construction includes postcards, ads, signage and a new website designed with a great admin feature to meet their needs to frequently update information about available homes. Check out our Trick Construction work in the

GMS Portfolio and visit the new Trick Construction site.

If you think MySpace is just for college kids, you and your business are missing out on a tremendous opportunity to share your message. Spend your next lunch break exploring MySpace. You will find many businesses taking advantage of a free profile. You will find convention and visitors bureaus, musicians and coffee shops.

Kudos to our friends at the Alabama Gulf Coast CVB for their great MySpace profile.
